Megalomaniacs

For the Megalomaniacs course this cycle, students are developing their own Countries.
A chance to rule your own country. Students need to locate their country on the world map and look at all of their geographical aspects.
They then look at topics like- historical timeline, currency/economics, national sport/food/costume, environment and biomes to list a few.
One of the anticipated lessons is a visit by Dr Andy Kirker also known as “The Games Man”.
He plays an interactive card game called “Foreign Affairs”. Students join forces with another student and are the leaders of the country. Through a series of clever strategic moves, negotiation and influence they earn points in order to win the game. There are also round table discussions with one representative of each country similar to the United Nations.  The students learnt so much and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. In fact most wanted to continue the game the following lesson. 🙂
